How to Set Up A Dropshipping Store with Shopify

After stay-at-home orders forced a lot of people out of work, there was a lot of talk about starting your own business with little to no investment. The easiest way to do this is through dropshipping. Amazon is great a dropshipping, they list creators books, clothing and products on their website, customers order them and then the manufacture ships them to the customer. Don’t believe me? Next time you’re on Amazon, scrolled down and look at the shipped from section of some of your favorite products. You’ll find quite a few that are not fulfilled and shipped by Amazon.

But, you’re not Amazon. How can you start a business dropshipping and make money doing it? Follow the steps below to get your Shopify store (our favorite selling platform) ready to start taking dropshipping orders.

1. Install a dropshipping app.

Once signed up for your Shopify store, install the dropshipping application that integrates with it.

This application is called Oberlo.

What is Oberlo? Oberlo is a dropshipping platform that allows you to find and add dropshipping products to your store quickly.

This will allow you to offer multiple products that you want to sell without having to spend capital.

2. Select the Product Category You Want to Sell

Next, you can select the product category you want to sell through the Oberlo app.

Try to choose a product that you have / can master the specifications. Thus, it is easy to explain to consumers the advantages of the product they want to buy.

If you don't understand what products to sell, you can choose them based on your research data.

3. Customize and Beautify Your Online Store

The stages haven't ended here; now we enter the most fun stage, beautifying the online store by using various themes provided by Shopify.

While at this stage, focus your mind like someone who wants to buy an item in this store.

Think from a layout that is easy to use, easy to find, and colors that are not too flashy to payment methods that all buyers can use.

Now, how do you get paid? You don't need to worry about Shopify; there are dozens of payment methods you can choose from.

4. Don't Forget to Promote on Social Media.

If you’re getting into the sales industry, that means that advertising and marketing are far awa. Promote your business and your products on social media. Start with one of the most accessible types to manage, such as Instagram. Make sure to order a few of the products and take pictures with them. A bunch of stock photos are a dead giveaway that you don’t have the products on hand.

Remember that no matter how good the product you have, everything will only look useless and difficult to get buyers if it is managed without a marketing strategy.

5. Always Use Data to Make Decisions

Shopify gives you access to amazing information through it’s analytics dashboard. Use this data to make other decisions about your business.

Should you focus on Facebook, Instagram or Tiktok? Check your analytics.

What are your customer demographics? Check your analytics.

Do you offer a product that no one wants? Check your analytics.

Now that you know how to setup your dropshipping business. Get online and get your business started.
