How do you know it's time for your employee to find a new job.

If you are reading this article, the chances are that you are considering looking for a new job. Maybe you want to enrich yourself with skills that cannot be obtained in the current company. You may also want to find new opportunities in a different industry.

If you are still unsure between looking for a new job or staying with your current job, watch out for the following signs of having to find a new job.

1. Feeling discomfort at work

One of the most apparent signs it's time for a new job is when people don't feel comfortable in the office, whether it's the routine, work, environment, coworkers, or the challenges encountered at the office.

Going through uncomfortable things every day will make you and the employee feel tormented. AND it will harm their productivity if not addressed immediately.

Take the discomfort as a sign that you need to explore further and fix whatever you can improve. However, if it can't be repaired or attempted anymore, provide them with the support they need to find their next role.

2. Strong desire to Learn New Things

When an employee first starts with your company, there is so much to learn. Even a cashier with prior experience will have new products, systems, teams, and cultures to discover. Over time, they can begin to master everything and run out of new things to learn. This can be a sign that they will be looking for work again soon.

Head off the recruiters by updating and refreshing the jobs in your business. Your customers, the economy, and your products should be continuously changing and updating. Also, find or create new roles in your company that your team can promote and save your most entry-level positions for new people to join the group.

Volunteer opportunities also give employees a chance to live out their passions, grow and feel more satisfied at work; however, if you can't get behind supporting your teams here, it is better to let them move on.

3. Bosses pay less attention to employee development

According to a report from Tiny Pulse, there are several reasons why employees end up looking for a new job. One of the main reasons is that employees feel that their superiors are not accommodating their development.

Employee development is supported, among others, by good management, giving appreciation, building a healthy work culture, and opening up opportunities to add skills or pursue a career.

If you have supervisors, managers, and leaders in your business that don't take development seriously, let them go quickly.

4. Find Better Opportunities

It is not uncommon when we are already in a job, suddenly a more attractive offer comes. Remember, when you employ and train a new employee, you provide them with new experience and transferrable skills.

Plus, employment is like dating. When someone is employed, they're way more attractive to others.

When your employees receive an offer you can't compete with, it's ok to let them know and encourage them to move on. You'll make their transition smoother, and they will remember you with employee referrals in the future.

Those are the five signs that it's time for your employees to find a new job.
